Is auf jeden Fall ab jetzt mein Lieblingstier.

Balkanpokernews 2009 – EPILOG
So, heute geht’s los.
http://www.pokerfirma.de/news/geruecht/constantin-rijkenberg-%E2%80%93-n…
going on vacation
Well, the WSOP is just around the corner, which means it is time
for me to relax before 3 months of solid work. I am going with my
family on a 5 day cruise that leaves out of Jacksonville Florida. It
should be a nice fun time. I think we are going to Atlantis when we
stop at the bahamas to show my family where my first final table took
place, plus go on all their water slides. It should be fun. I am also
looking forward to all the delicious food on the boat. Hopefully I dont
mess up my 6 months of working out. Speaking of working out, we are now
going 4 days per week for an hour and 15 minutes, which seems like a
lot to me. Katy and I are both getting in shape and starting to see
results, so we are happy with it
Pokerwise, I played the $500 at Bellagio yesterday and ended
up taking 9th place out of 35 or so people. I got 2 outered early in
the tournament to go from 8000 to 3000 chips but grinded well and won
some coin flips to get up to 60,000. I then had JJ and raised preflop
and got 2 callers. It came 9s4s2c. I bet and one guy called. The turn
was the 8s. I checked and this older, but semicrazy guy bet 13,000 into
the 18,000 pot, leaving himself 17,000 behind. I went with my read and
pushed, fully expecting to be ahead. He called with the 54 with 1
spade. I had none and he obv hit it on thew river to put me down to
10,000 chips. I somehow grinded back up to 40,000 when we got to
800/1600-200 at the final table. I had position on the crazy guy, so I
was happy. He raised to 5000 on the button and I picked up 44 in the
sb. I thought about calling, but decided to push, as he raises tons of
buttons and may call when I have 70% equity. He called with AQ after
thinking for a while and just like that, I was out. I think I played
the tournament very well and while it sucks to lose 1/3 of the chips in
play to one guy over the course of the torunament, it is good to know
that if I win even one of those hands, I would have probably
steamrolled the table and won. I feel like I am getting a good idea of
how weaker players play and can hopefully turn this grinding of random
daily events into a WSOP braclet in the coming months.
I decided I was going to play the $300 daily tournament at Bellagio
yesterday super nitty reguardless of the table situation, as it has
recently appeared to me that I should be super aggressive based on the
lack of good players in the events. Despite that, I wanted to try to
play nitty for once, since I havent done that in a long time. I ended
up getting it in slightly bad a few times but eventually ran 66 into JJ
when we were on the bubble, busting me in 6th out of 40. All in all,
playing like a super nit may be +ev but I dont think it is the most +ev.
Today I played a 6 max tournament for the French pokerstrategy.com
section as a pro for their site. It was basically a 6 max sng where 1st
and 2nd move on to the 2nd round, which will be played at a later date.
I also talked to some of the mods and coaches through their coaching
program. It was lots of fun and I got to answer lots of questions. All
in all, it was a good time and I look forward to doing it again.
I took today off, as Katy and I have some stuff to get done around
down before we go on our cruise on Sunday. Im looking forward to taking
a well needed vacation in preparation for the next few months with 0
off days. Hopefully it goes well. As for tomorrow, I am going to play
the $500 at Bellagio again. I took 5th in one of the $500s last week,
so hopefully I can better that.
I am going to the WSOP!!
Actually, I was going anyways, as I live in Vegas and play every
tournament I can fit into my schedule. I did win a "free" tournament on
Stars though, which won me and 10 other people a $12,000 package, which
includes the $10,000 buyin, $1,000 cash, and 8 nights at Palms.
Actually, the satellite tournament wasnt free. I was sitting on my
computer loading up as many tournaments as I could when I stumbled
across a 50,000 FPP sat to the WSOP main event. I also saw they were
adding 2 packages to the prize pool, so I jumped for it. Fwiw, 50,000
FPPS is worth around $700 cash if I cashed them out. All in all, I am
super happy with the result. Sadly, I have busted from all the other
sunday mtts except for the Stars $500, which I do really well in for
some reason. I only have 20bbs in that though, so im not hoping for too
much.
As for the rest of life, Katy and I are getting excited for our
cruise in a week. I dont think I have been on a cruise in around a
year, so it should be a nice, relaxing time. Also, I have played 3 more
Bellagio daily tournaments during the last week. I got itm (down to 5
people) in one of them as co-chipleader but proceded to lose 4 all ins
to bust in 5th. All in all though, I think I am getting much better at
playing against weaker players, which is a must for the WSOP. Hopefully
all the practice will pay off in a month.
Introduction
Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog here at
PokerStrategy.com. I figured I would take the time in this first blog
to tell everyone a little bit about myself.
I started playing poker when I was 18 with college friends. I
quickly saw that a few people were winning and decided I wanted to be
one of the winners. I bought a few poker books and started beating the
tiny live games. I then decided to deposit some money into an old
online poker site and never looked back. I grinded from $.50/$1.00
limit up to $15/$30 and eventually switched to sngs when I broke even
at $30/$60 limit for a while. I grinded the biggest sngs in the game
for around 1.5 years and made around $300,000, basically all of which I
lost playing live tournaments once I turned 21. When I turned 22, I had
my first big score at the Poker Stars WPT event in the bahamas, cashing
for $320,000 for 5th place. From there, I went on a sick heater and
ended up cashing for around $2,500,000 that year. Last year, I cashed
for around $1,500,000, obviously running hot once again. This year, I
have cashed for around $60,000, which isnt too good, but thats variance
for you.
As for online tournament winnings, I have taken 2nd in the Sunday
Million on Stars, a 4th in the Full Tilt 750k guarenteed, a 6th in the
$500 that happenes every Sunday on Stars, and a 7th in the $10,000
buyin WCOOP event. I am quite happy with all of these scores, as I
rarely make the time to sit down in front of the computer anymore and
just grind tournaments.
Now, I tend to take a little more time to enjoy life. I grinded
hard for a few years and now I think it is time for me to relax a
little more. My wonderful fiancee, Katy, has taught me this and it has
made me a much happier person. All in all, life is great and I am
looking forward to sharing my experiences with all of you here.
So, what is going on in my life today? Well, I am going to the
gym in about 2 minutes. Katy and I have been training with a personal
trainer for the last few months and we are starting to get in shape.
After that, I am going to play the $500 daily tournament at Bellagio. I
am going to be playing these a bit for the next month or so as practice
for the wsop. Thats pretty much it. I will post again when something
happens.
